Pomario Cultural Activities
L.O.S.T. (Love Outdoors Share Trails)
As the name indicates, the Pomario L.O.S.T. club is an extension of our love for the outdoors. Established in 2020, the enthusiastic L.O.S.T. members have already participated in an impressive array of activities like hikes in the Cederberg Mountains, rock climbing, family weekends, etc. Highlights include a hike to the well-known Disa Pools and Maltese Cross, as well as a sleep-over in the Sneeuberg hut on a two-day hike of Sneeuberg and Duiwelsgatkloof. We look forward to many more activities around Citrusdal and the Cape Peninsula in the future.
Choral verse
The sound of beautiful voices that harmonise well is one of the marks of a school where students are happy. The Pomario choral verse group was established in 2023, and they quickly became a close-knit group that lights up any occasion. They perform at school events and in the community. We are very proud of these ambassadors! They take part and excel in eisteddfods as well.
Private Music Lessons
At Pomario, we are thrilled to offer private music lessons that cater to each student’s unique interests and skill levels, providing individualized attention, allowing students to progress at their own pace and develop a deep connection with their instrument.
Pomario Cares
At Pomario, we believe in the power of community and the joy of giving back. Our Pomario Cares programme is all about making a positive impact in the lives of those around us.
Eisteddfod
Participating in Eisteddfods offers numerous benefits. It encourages students to express themselves, build confidence and develop their artistic skills. It is also a wonderful opportunity for them to experience the joy of performing and being recognised for their hard work and creativity.
Pomario Excursions
At Pomario, our school excursions are more than just a fun day out—they are a vital part of our educational journey! Excursions offer students the chance to explore new environments, engage with real-world experiences, and connect classroom lessons to practical applications.
Pomario Concert
Our school had the privilege of working with Ms. Olivia Hall, who led a creative workshop with our learners. Inspired by their talents and personalities, she wrote Finding the Light — a series of short plays for each grade, showcasing the children’s unique gifts.
Ms. Hall was assisted by her friend Greg King, an award-winning set designer and director known for his work on My Fair Lady in Cape Town. His expert touch brought the stage to life with imaginative sets and props.
The production also received wonderful support from parents: Desiré Smit, Jeaneldé Mouton, Jacoline Marais, and Julmé Conradie, who helped with music, sound, costumes, décor and backstage coordination.
After four months of rehearsals, the children delivered a striking performance that filled the audience with pride and joy — a true celebration of creativity, teamwork and community spirit.
